Thomas Cook launch direct flights from Norwich to Tunisia from March 2010

There are currently, several low-cost airlines such as Thomsonfly, Jet2 and Palmair already operating services to Tunisia. The low cost airline “Thomas Cook” will join these from March 2010 with direct flights from Norwich to Tunisia, marking the beginning of a series of flights throughout the summer and possibly set to continue through the winter of 2010.

According to the management of Norwich International Airport, Tunisia is among their top six destinations for summer 2010, a list which also includes Tenerife, Bulgaria, Madeira, Portugal and Guernsey.

Thomas Cook set to launch summer flights to Tunisia

Leeds Bradford Airport has announced that the tour operator Thomas Cook will begin flights to Tunisia from the airport this summer.
Sally Ramsey, marketing and business development manager of Leeds Bradford Airport, said that "Tunisia is a vibrant and exciting destination offering our Yorkshire holiday makers the chance to experience a unique destination."

Jet2.com starts flights to Tunisia

Budget airline Jet2.com has given Manchester Airport another boost with plans to start direct flights to Tunisia.

It will begin services to Monastir from May 2010, with fares starting at £69.99 one way, including taxes.

Tunisia offers a variety of tourist attractions, from camel trekking, beaches and Souks to archaeology and scuba diving.

Airline boss Philip Meeson said: "I'm confident that it will be an extremely popular summer holiday destination for us next year."

Andrew Harrison, Manchester Airport's commercial director, said: "The non-euro zone is becoming increasingly popular with passengers who want more for their money."

Palmair has commenced flights to Tunisia from Exeter, marking the beginning of a series of new winter flights from the airport.

It was announced earlier this year that a series of Boeing 737 Palmair flights would commence to Tunisia and Fuerteventura for the period between November and March, although the airline has since agreed to introduce additional flights to Monastir in May, June and October next year.

Jamie Christon, Exeter Airport's managing director, said the airport is "delighted" to be teaming with Palmair.

"We are very pleased to be working with this award winning operator and the start of this new series of flights to guaranteed winter sunshine destination seems to be indicator of better times ahead," he commented.

Founded in 1957, Palmair was voted Britain's most popular short-haul airline in a poll last year by Holiday Which?, the third time it has received the accolade in the past decade.

Holidaymakers from Norfolk can now head to a Tunisia in summer or winter.

Thomas Cook Airlines has extended its flights from Norwich International Airport to Tunisia to 27 departures on Sundays from March 7, 2010 to April 17, 2011.

Elliott Summers, the airport's managing director said: “Tunisian holidays represent great value for money out of the Euro Zone and we are very pleased Thomas Cook Airlines has kicked off our winter programme with these additional flights to Tunisia.”It takes three hours to fly to from Norwich to Tunisia, which boasts powder-soft beaches, ancient ruins and scuba diving.

Flights are to Monastir, and departures from Norwich will now be between March 7 to May 16, October 17-24, November 7-21, December 19 and 26 and February 27, 2011 to April 17, 2011.
